Harun refutes detention, departure rumours

Harunor Rashid, the additional commissioner (crime and operations) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), has confirmed that he is still in Bangladesh and has not been detained. In a phone conversation with Bangla Tribune on Tuesday afternoon, Harun addressed the reports circulating on Facebook about his alleged detention at Dhaka airport by the army. He mentioned that he went to his office in the morning but returned home after finding no one there. When questioned about attempting to leave the country, Harun replied: "Are you saying I came back from the airport? How could I have left yesterday when all flights were canceled? Flights only resumed today, so it's impossible that I left yesterday. This is just a rumor."
